Killed because he's Gay at 14 years old
Giovanni Melton was killed in cold blood after his father killed him because he is gay.
14 year old Giovanni was brutally murdered by his Father Wendell Melton
who will be pictured later on in this post.
First off, I just want to say that this brought tears to my eyes and it just makes me heart hurt extremely
bad. This young boy was gunned down by his OWN FATHER !!!
Friends and Family say, Giovanni was an energetic sweetheart and that he brought love and joy to everyone that he came in contact with.
He went to High School in Colorado and an senior that attended the same school Bailey Schultz
says "It’s just sad. He was young and he had a lot to live for."
On Thursday afternoon, Henderson police say 53-year-old Wendell Melton shot his teenage son in the apartment where family members say Giovanni stayed by himself.
"Giovanni was abused physically and mentally and spiritually for many, many years," coming from Sonja Jones, Giovanni's former foster mom.
Sonya also implied that "Wendell (the sick father) would rather have a dead son than a gay son."
Wendell even pulled out a gun on Giovanni and his boyfriend when he caught them in the apartment together.
Wendell Melton is facing charges of murder, child abuse, and prohibited possession of a firearm.

"I hope they throw the book at him. I hope he never sees the light of day," said Sonya Jones. "I hope every day when he looks in the mirror, he sees his son's face."
It's time to start praying. It's time we start fighting for and lifting each other up. I'm praying for his friends and family and I'm praying for this world because it's really not as loving and "free" as they make it seem.
